Windows Plesk DNS and Private Nameservers

Last Updated: Oct 25, 2014 11:38PM EDT
Plesk Manages DNS within the domain interface within Plesk.  When adding a domain, if you choose the option to allow Plesk to add the default records for you, it will create all required DNS entries.  Custom entries can also be created as required.

To utilize the native Plesk DNS servers, simply point your domain to the nameservers provided to you in your welcome email

typically, they look something like this

us-ns1.[private-label].com
us-ns2.[private-label].com

or

ca-ns1.[private-label].com
ca-ns2.[private-label].com

and so on (depending on the server you are assigned to)

You can simply point all domains in your account to these nameservers and everything will work by default

For customers using the Windows Plesk accounts for reselling and desire vanity nameservers, please do the following

- manage the DNS of the domain you wish to you as your private nameservers or vanity nameservers
- create an ns1 and ns2 record for your domain and point them to the IPs associated with the servers nameservers
for example
us-ns1.[private-label].com
us-ns2.[private-label].com
or
ca-ns1.[private-label].com
ca-ns2.[private-label].com
- register your ns1 and ns2 nameservers at your registrar (same name as you created in Plesk above) and point them to the same IPs as above
